Dear Members,
Unfortunately, we are once again seeing forced overtime, long emergency wait times, and staff pushed to the limit this long weekend. Management has agreed to increase overtime compensation to two and a half times (2.5x) for all overtime from the start of the September 1, 2023 delta shift to the end of the September 4, 2023 delta shift. This will apply to all overtime shifts, including pre-booked shifts that have already been scheduled.
Management has also agreed to increase overtime booking levels in order to account for higher call volumes and sick calls. If you would like to make yourself available for overtime this weekend, please contact the Intraday at 604-215-4940.
We continue to hear concerns about constant patching, delayed bathroom breaks, and extreme workload concerns in many workgroups. We have notified management that we will be asking members to share their concerns and document specific incidents with the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee at johsc@ecomm911.ca.
