Attention All Members:
We continue to move forward with our response to management’s Sick Leave, STIIP, and Attendance Management programs. This month, we are projected to file approximately 100 grievances, and we continue to pressure management to make meaningful changes to alleviate our wide-ranging and serious concerns about the harm they are causing our members.
Management has now advised it wants to improve these programs but have not yet signed an agreement putting this commitment in writing. Yesterday, management informed us that supervisors will advise members about the purpose of attendance meetings before they begin and will offer stewards to union members for all attendance meetings.
We encourage management to put these commitments in writing. In the meantime, if these two basic things do not occur when brought into an attendance investigation, wellness check, accommodation meeting, etc., contact us at grievance@ecpbc.ca so we can investigate the incident and file grievances to defend your rights.
In solidarity,
Donald Grant
President
